Slovak company data: using the RPO API

RPO is the Slovak Register of Legal Entities, Entrepreneurs and Public Authorities. It is run by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic and has a public JSON API with no key.

Look up a company by ID

A Slovak company ID (IČO) has 8 digits. This request returns one company:

curl "https://api.statistics.sk/rpo/v1/search?identifier=35763469"

The answer has two top level fields, results and license. Each result has fields such as id, identifiers, fullNames, addresses, establishment and sourceRegister.

Search by name

Use fullName with URL encoding. Add onlyActive=true to leave out entities that have ended.

curl "https://api.statistics.sk/rpo/v1/search?fullName=Slovak%20Telekom&onlyActive=true"

Values have a history

Names and addresses come as lists because the register keeps earlier values. Choose the current entry before you show one to a person.

Licence

The API response carries the licence text. It applies Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 to the data, so name the source when you reuse it. Read the text in the response for the exact scope.

From an AI assistant

EntityFeed wraps this register as an MCP server, so an assistant can call get_company with country set to SK and receive the current values, the source and the retrieval time in one record.
